Katie Basile
Beginning September 24, 2011
Katie Basile is a writer and photographer from rural Alaska. She is currently funemployed and living in Brooklyn, New York. She recently married a handsome Long Islander named Paul Basile. He is self-employed, which is also fun.
Katie and Paul live in a cozy basement home with their cat Gloria. Gloria is black and grey striped with hints of orange. She has a nice round head and a long tail. Gloria was cursed with a terrible meow. It scrapes on every vocal chord in her little kitty throat before croaking off of her scratchy tongue. Katie and Paul love her anyway.
Katie and Paul’s apartment was once dingy and crumbly and leaky and awful. Thanks to Paul’s savvy carpenter skills, Katie’s consistent nagging and a few Target gift cards, it’s beginning to feel like home.

Jessica LaPrade’s painting style is an interpretation of the natural world, integrated with technological and urban contrivances channeled through textural studies of nature. The resulting experience of interconnectedness allows the viewer’s visceral response a primary and urgent voice.
She recieved her BFA from Eastern Washington University. She currently live and work in Spokane, WA. In 2009, she participated in the Drawing in Paradise workshop with Alex and Allyson Grey. The experience has helped inspire new works with a deeper understanding of the divine intuition and the importance of an artist’s message.
